Three years later, the one80 brand expanded to Malta’s sister island of Gozo with the opening of the one80 Kitchen at Mġarr Yacht Marina. To further diversify their offering, one80 introduced a seasonal floating bar in the heart of the Mġarr Yacht Marina and, most recently, added the entertainment destination Ix-Xatt by one80 to their Gozitan venues. Although each destination offers a unique concept, the overall one80 experience promises excellent quality throughout!

A strong work ethic has led Maheshwor to achieve his goals, and he is constantly motivated by the positive experiences he has gained along the way. As a chef, Maheshwor enjoys communicating with different people and sharing his experiences, as well as learning more about service, bars and management too. After moving to Malta, Maheshwor became a core part of the one80 team and was promoted to Head Chef and Assistant Restaurant Manager. He found the freedom to apply his skills in the one80 kitchen, where he enjoys working with local top-quality products for sushi blend infusions alongside his team of passionate colleagues.
At home, Maheshwor enjoys cooking traditional Nepalese and Newari foods to enjoy a taste of home with his family. His adventurous streak also leads him to spend his free time camping, walking in nature, visiting new places and enjoying great food and drinks, of course!
Having finessed his skills with a Catering Diploma and a Bartending Diploma under his belt, globetrotter Joris went on to work in the Beverage Industry across three continents. In Europe, Joris sharpened his skills as he moved from France to Ireland and the United Kingdom. Heading towards the Pacific Ocean, he furthered his experience while working in French Polynesia. Finally, Joris travelled to Asia, where he worked in Thailand before making his way back to Europe.
Settling down in Malta, Joris soon found his place behind the one80 bar, bringing his creativity and natural flair for mixology to the local restaurant scene. Sharing a common purpose as the one80 brand, Joris is devoted to offering a unique experience to each customer, connecting with clients as he helps them discover new flavours and techniques through mixology.
Joris is at his happiest when he sees his customers enjoying themselves at the bar. He also loves discovering new aspects of the culture of the country he’s living in, satisfying his adventurous streak by visiting local historical and architectural sites!
